Have you ever practiced concentration? In this episode of The Enlightened Executive, we discuss the ability to focus with Dandapani.
Dandapani is a Hindu priest, entrepreneur, and a former monk of 10 years. He works with entrepreneurs and some of the top athletes in the world in helping them understand and leverage their minds so that they can be the best at what they do. He does this by empowering them with tools and teachings that have been used by Hindu monks of his tradition for thousands of years.
Many entrepreneurs are quick to admit that focus is something that they struggle with, but is that something you can solve? Dandapani says yes, but it will take practice. He explains that “we are never trained on how to focus.” We are told to focus, but never shown how.
Just like any other skill, developing the ability to focus will take practice.
Dandapani also shares that he believes “distraction is causing companies millions of dollars” and while many leaders may believe that eliminating these distractions is the answer to this problem, Dandapani recommends a different method. In this video, he explains that you can’t eliminate distractions.
Rather, you must learn and practice concentration to maximize your productivity.
Once leaders begin to intentionally focus in their lives, they have found that they have more energy, they realize what opportunities are aligned with their priorities (and which are not), and they have found to have deeper relationships with the people in their lives.
